🚀💥 2024 has already been a year of tremendous growth and we’re thrilled to announce Matthew Black joining the MonetizeNow team to continue this momentum as he leads our efforts to create exceptional, magnetic, experiences for our customers!


We asked Matt a couple questions that we thought others would find interesting, and share a peak behind the curtain of why we know Matt is the right leader and teammate to amplify the value MonetizeNow can deliver to its customers.

Q1: What brought you here? Why MonetizeNow?

 “It’s really the same reason as a lot of our customers - revenue technologies, broadly speaking, are atrocious, and MonetizeNow is determined to fix that! I’ve spent the past decade as an advisor for commercial and customer strategy but the story was always the same: the strategy was the easy part, the implementation was painful. We found that the in-market solutions were extremely limited in their scope or challenging to integrate to other systems. Building bespoke was often less expensive, was beloved by the users, and could generate higher uplift and adoption, but came at the cost of inflexibility as they evolved the business, changed their pricing model, launched new products, etc. The opportunity to take these experiences and apply them to help at scale is invigorating.”

Q2: What is your #1 priority for your first year at MonetizeNow?

“Empathy. Bringing overwhelming empathy into everything we do at MonetizeNow. I believe that will be a continued source of our differentiation and scale. B2B technologies are quick to measure on features and functionality, “Here’s what we can do for your process.”, “Here’s what we can do for your business.”, but that’s simply table stakes. My perspective is we are on a path to create unmatched experiences for our customers by deeply understanding what they need, emotionally, and delivering that directly to them.


A mentor previously shared an apt philosophy: Simple - Complex - Simple. Simple user questions, MonetizeNow bearing the weight of the complexity to address this simple question, and providing back a simple answer or action. 


Empathy is understanding that a sales team member would rather spend time understanding growth opportunities over admin to close a deal. Empathy is giving finance the transparency and assurance that all of a customer’s usage is being appropriately billed, automatically. Empathy is appreciating that a platform like Salesforce or NetSuite, while enterprise behemoths, are actually very overwhelming and intimidating for non-technical users and require dedicated administrators to operate.


The MonetizeNow team already works with empathy at the core of everything they do, and I’m thrilled to be able to bring this to all of our customers.
